Wow, what a hilarious AND devastating critique of "contermporvent" churches!

Thank you North Point Media, you really hit the nail on the head with this one.

So Eric is leaving Mosaic, well we're going to miss him. He was a big contributor to this site. Reading his blog you get the sense that he's still a company man. Poor kid. ”Not every dream is from God, but if you don’t have a dream you aren’t listening to God..."quote from Erwin's sermpn from Sunday. It makes you grateful for not being part of Mosaic and not being part of his staff. MH

Things are looking pretty bleak for Mosaic.

A few weeks ago the elders (with one exception) voted to dissolve the Board of Elders of Mosaic.

So much for accountability.

Now with Eric Bryant gone, who is going to take over the leadership of Erwin's non-profit organization "Awaken Humanity?" What about the others, "Awaken", "Awaken International" and "Awaken Center for Creativity?" Are these three orphaned organizations finally going to be legally dissolved or will they continue to languish in legal limbo?

So who was the elder who wanted to keep accountability?

When I heard about this group I didn't believe it. A group of believers congregating around gossip and negativity in such magnitude couldn't possibly be real. Seeing how dedicated and consumed some of you have been to researching and publicizing the negative sides of Mosaic, is so sad. Mosaic isn't perfect. Erwin isn't perfect. Welcome to humanity. What is true, is something very basic, and that is that Mosaic has fostered a culture of Love; the kind of Love that Jesus lived. Thousands of people around the world can testify to this, myself included. Mosaic may not be your 'flavor', and it appears that you have been hurt by some things in the past, but I pray for the release of your hurt and pain and for true forgiveness so that you may experience the purpose and fulfillment that was intended for you when you were created. 70x7, right? I thank God every day for that kind of forgiveness.

When you are tempted to hold tight to your negativity, remember what Jesus himself said to those trying condemn a sinner. "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone"

When you look to man (or your church leadership), you put satan ahead of the Holy Spirit to speak directly to you.

In a way, Mosaic is saying that Jesus should have stay a carpenter... and focused on making fancy cabinets for the romans.
